I Love Weekends!

We had a great weekend! I always love the weekends because I get to hang out with Tyler and have family time!
On Friday night Tyler and I got to go on a date, thanks to his parents who watched Addy and Dawson. Those two just love "framma and frampa" as Dawson calls them. Tyler and I got dinner at a yummy authentic Mexican restaurant and then went to see Avengers. I actually really enjoyed it, even though I am not usually into action movies.
On Saturday we had a layed back day as a family. And I have to give a shout out to Tyler for completing a seven mile run! He is training to do a half marathon and then a marathon. I have been training with him and I am up to three miles but to be honest I am struggling! My legs don't really get tired when I run, but I just feel like I can't breathe and my chest feels tight the whole time! Even after I have warmed up for a while. Any suggestions from you runners out there? I am starting to get discouraged because I really want to run this half marathon with Tyler, but I am just having a hard time getting past the three miles because I feel like I can't get enough air. For a while I thought that was just how you were supposed to feel when running, but Tyler told me he didn't have that problem. I mean I know it's normal to have heavier breathing when doing cardio, but should I feel that uncomfortable the whole time I run? Ok, enough about that, I just had to get out some of my frustration about that.
On Saturday I also took the kids on a wagon ride to the park. Addy LOVES riding in the wagon. She gets this big smile on her face and waves her hands excitedly the whole time. When we got to the park Addy was content to sit and play in the wagon, and Dawson had a great time playing in the sand and running around. It makes me so happy to watch them having fun!

I can basically never get a picture of the two of them where they are both looking at the camera, so I decided to work with what I had. This time it was a lawn mower across the street that distracted them. You would laugh if you could see the other bazillion pictures I took of them where they were looking opposite directions, had their eyes closed, hands in front of their faces, etc. Ha ha they are pretty cute no matter what though!

What a Morning

This morning was just one of those mornings. You know, where you have a ton of things to do, and a short amount of time to do them. We had an activity at a friend's house to tie-dye shirts at ten, and before then I had to make these little babies: S'more Cups, which are basically amazing! I also had to get dinner into the crock pot so it would have enough time to cook before dinner-time tonight, and get myself and the kids ready. Just to add a little more excitement to my already busy morning, Dawson decided to be extra mischievous, and, I hate to use this word when referring to him, difficult. He wasn't a fan of the idea of getting dressed or going potty, or of really doing anything I needed him to do. He is a sweetheart most of the time though so I guess it's just natural that I get a few of those difficult times from him. Addy was her usual, easy-going self as I got things ready. She is such a chill baby. I am lucky in that aspect! The odds were against me, but I got everything done with a few minutes to spare. My house looked like a  bomb had gone off in it by the time I walked out the door, but I had accomplished the imortant-have-to-be-done things.
Once we got to my friend's house Dawson had a blast. She has a really big fenced in yard, with a swing set and an in-ground tramp. Oh yes, and rocks. Don't forget the rocks. Dawson feels the need to collect as many of them as possible anywhere we go and find any kind of body of water to throw them in. And if the water isn't doing it for him, there's always the chickens to chuck rocks at. Oh Dawson, my adorable two-year-old (although he is three if you ask him), you make me laugh.

Munchin' on a doughnut at our tie-dye activity. Hence
the plastic bag over his shirt.

My happy girl, relaxing in the shade.

I want to do a little update of my kids.
Addy is getting so big! She just turned eight months on the ninetheenth. I feel like time with the second child goes twice as fast as time with the first! Addy is very mobile now, and army crawls everywhere. She is fast. She can sit herself up by herself, and is always on her hands and knees, although she has no interest in crawling yet. She also always pushes herself up onto her hands and toes, and I am surprised she can keep her balance. Lately she has been trying to crawl, walk, whatever you want to call it, on her hands and toes, so I think that may end up being her mode of transportation instead of crawling. She can now say "bye bye" and "da da." I can't keep a bow in her hair to save my life these day. This makes me very sad but I have learned to cope:) She absolutely loves Dawson, and he can make her laugh just by looking at her. I love watching how cute they are together.
Dawson keeps me laughing all the time. He says the funniest things. The other morning as I was making him breakfast he said to me "Your hair looks kind of loosey." I was like what? It was actually wold have been a good description if "loosey" means crazy. I asked him where he heard that or what it meant but he didn't really get what I was asking. After a day or two of him using this word all the time, I finally realized he had heard the term on the show "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That" which is one of his favorite shows. And that it in fact is supposed to mean something like crazy. Also, Dawson will frequently come into the kitchen while I'm cooking and ask me "What's for dinner, babe?" I just about died laughing the first time he asked me that. He got that phrase from Tyler. Dawson also loves playing outside, especially if he is playing with friends. He is quite a sociable fellow.

Here I am!

I have been resisting the urge to start a blog for the past few years, but here I am! I really don't know why I didn't want to. Maybe I was worried that I wouldn't keep up with it or that I wouldn't have time for it. I have decided, however, that a blog is a great way to record my kids growing up years, while at the same time allowing my far-away family and friends to keep up with our lives.
For almost the past three years we have lived in North Ogden, UT, and we love it here. Tyler is working in Salt Lake right now and going to school full time so he is staying very busy. I will be so happy when Tyler graduates in the Fall so I can have him back! I feel like work and school own his life right now, ha ha.  We have lots of neighbors here with young children, and Dawson is quite happy to always have a play mate. And I have also been blessed with some very good friends here. I don't know how I'd survive without them! Basically we are loving life, busy as it may be! I love being a wife and a mom. I am one lucky girl. I will leave you with a few pictures of the fam!

Loves him some baseball

And she loves being outside
