Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was perfect! The weather was amazing and we just played and played outside. The kids are loving having a yard bc they have never had one before. On Saturday, Tyler's mom got this super huge, cool ball. It was so neat!
You could climb inside and roll around or have someone push you!

Addy was a little unsure ...

And then she decided she hated it and was scared of it, poor girl.

For Easter sometimes I have a hard time with the concept of the Easter Bunny. I feel like everyone talks so much about the Easter Bunny, and candy, and not enough on the Resurrection. After some thought though I decided that I had some great memories from finding a basket from the Easter Bunny on Easter morning. I decided to still do Easter baskets, but that I didn't want to make it a huge deal. I tried to make a bigger deal about the true meaning of Easter. I didn't put too much in the kids baskets but they were still so excited.

After Church I wanted to take some pictures of them in their cute outfits, but Addy wasn't having anything to do with it.
She was ready for a nap and did NOT want Dawson to hold her hand.

After dinner  it was time for an egg hunt! It took the kids a while to gather all the eggs bc they had to look inside each one before they put it in their basket. And occasionally they had to sample what was inside.

Travel Tales

We made it back from NC safe and sound! I basically slacked and didn't hardly take any pictures while there, besides the ones I already posted. We all had a great time, and I was sad to leave. Dawson loved my siblings so much, and I had missed them and my parents a lot. On the 21st-26th Adam and his girl friend, Kyrsten came to visit from Provo, and we had fun spending time with them. We had had lots of late night mafia games with lots of friends and family after the kinds went to bed. Those games got pretty intense! Dawson definitely had a crush on Kyrsten, and would always ask her to sit next to him. There were a few time other people sat down next to him at meal time and he immediately let them know that seat was reserved for Kyrsten, ha ha. We were scheduled to fly out on the 26th at five pm. that morning at 3am I woke up to Addy throwing up, and thought "Oh no, please no! I can't have my kids throwing up on the plane!!" She threw up about 5 or 6 more times before 8 am but was totally fine and Happy for the rest of the day, and Dawson never acted sick at all. By the time our flight rolled around I thought everything was hunky-dory. Just by coincidence Adam and Kyrsten had the same flight as me. I was relieved bc flying with two young children on your own is never easy. The first flight was an hour long, and Addy seemed just fine-until we began our final descent. Then she projectile vomited all over herself, all over me, our back pack, blanket, and Dawson's leg. I just sat there in shock for a second, and then Dawson was screaming "Get it off me get it off me!" After panicking for a minute I just calmed myself down, and got out my wipes and cleaned us up as best as I could. It had been a ton of throw up and it smelled so so awful. The poor man on the row next to us was covering his nose. The way Addy threw up on me made it look like I had wet my pants, and Dawson kept exclaiming "Addy threw up all over! Addy threw up!!" I just looked straight ahead and didn't make eye contact with anyone, and after what seemed like forever, everyone was off the plane, and Adam and Kyrsten were able to come from the back and help me. The flight attendant brought me a bunch of wet paper towels and I was able to clean up a little more. Then I had to swallow my pride and walk through the huge Atlanta airport looking like I had wet my pants. We smelled AWFUL! After we finally found our gate Adam let me borrow a pair of sweats to change into, and I found an outfit to change Addy into. About seven hours later we made it home, and I was so so relieved, and so so happy to see my hubby after three weeks. The kids were so excited to see him too.
Ok, I have one more airport story that I forgot to write about earlier. This one happened when I was on my way from Utah to NC. After the four hour flight from SLC we had our layover at ATL. I had to pee soooo bad my the time I got there. There was a long line but we finally made it to the handicapped stall. The door to that stall was facing the out-the-door line of ladies waiting their turn. As I was sitting on the toilet, Dawson decided to open the door wide open! And then he wouldn't close it so I had to get up in front of everyone and close it! I heard one lady say "Oh bless your heart" and there were lots of chuckles. I thought about staying in the stall till all the people that had seen the episode would be gone. But then I just decided I didn't care and walked out  and said something like "I'm sorry for whatever you had to see!" That got a laugh. Oh the joys of traveling with children!!
