I wrote this post about two months ago and never published it for some readon. Maybe I was going to add something to it but I don't remember what.
Addy is just such a girl! Sometimes she reminds me of a two year old mother. She loves helping me cook, having her nails painted, loves, like absolutely LOVES new clothes and shoes. She is always washing the dishes or bossing someone around. "Dad, where does you plate go?" she said to him after dinner last night. She always wants things to be just right, and she cannot relax or continue what she was doing until everything is ready, and perfect. For example if we all sit down to watch a movie together, we are usually waiting on Addy Rose to get not just herself, but everyone, the right blanket to cuddle with. Or everyone has to have the right spoon and bowl for breakfast.
She is super thoughtful, and if she gets something for herself she always wants one for Dawson, and usually everyone else too. One time I took just her to the store, and a lady was giving out lolly pops. Addy got one for herself and then looked at the lady and said "And one for Dawson?"
She remembers where everything is! Tyler or Dawson will ask me where an item is, and next thing I know here comes Addy scurrying down the hall with the item they had been looking for. I always ask her where something is if I can't find it.
She really loves people. Instead of using the names of animals to teach her the sounds of letters which is most common, I will use the names of people we know and she remember the letter from then on.
Addy is my happy girl. Although she went through an emotional spell last year (probably due to lots of transitions) she has always been so quick to smile and giggle. I just love her laugh. Her happiness is contagious. I just looove this little girl so much!
Dawson is my rough and tumble little man who always wants to be outside. He has quite the farmers tan going on from all his hours spent outdoors. He has the best sense of humor and loves to get a laugh out of anyone. At soccer practice the other day he was playing with this little girl Robin (I am pretty sure he has a 4-year-old crush on her). He did something with the ball that I didn't see and Robin asked him "Daws, how did you do that?" His answer was "with my mad skills" said in a super cool, nonchalant way. Wonder where he got that from, Ty?
Dawson can be a really sweet brother and is getting a lot better and talking kindly to his siblings. I love when I hear him call Addy a sweetheart.
Dawson is definitely a mini Tyler, and loves to hit golf balls in our yard with his small club, right alongside Tyler with his big one. He is actually getting pretty good at hitting the ball. Grandpa would be proud!
In the past two months Dawson's asthma has come back after over a year of being dormant, so I am pretty bummed about that. We have been at the doctor four times trying to get things figured out, and I have been trying all different kinds of things with my doterra essential oils to get it under control. For a while they weren't sure that it was the asthma so I wasn't sure how to treat it, but now they know that the problem has been his asthma. I am trying to figure out and control whatever is triggering it (probably allergies, and viruses) and have started to have success using breath and eucalyptus. He has been getting better it seems, so I have not had to use the inhaler hardly at all. My main hope is that he will grow out of it as he gets older like my dad did.
Even though Dawson's asthma causes him to cough a lot when he is active he is still always running around. And I let him. I am not going to make him sit around and do nothing bc of this. I still want him to enjoy life. I am just so grateful for modern and natural medicine that help Dawson to not have to suffer from his asthma.
I love my little boy, who really is a big boy now and not a toddler anymore.
Then we have Brooks. He is just so easy going. He is nine months old now and is standing up to everything and cruising around. He loves being outside, and anytime someone opens the front door Brooks darts for the door to try to get out before it closes. He is still such a mama's boy which I love. If anyone besides Tyler tries to take Brooks from me, he smiles, buries his face in my shoulder, and tightens his grip. He loves to cuddle, and will just sit on my lap and watch everyone.
If I could choose one word for his personality I would pick "sweet."
Brooks has given me a run for my money when it comes to sleeping. I have not had an uninterrupted nights sleep in over nine months. It's starting to wear on me but I know it won't be like this forever.
Brooks thinks Dawson and Addy are Hilarious. He always giggles when they talk to him.
He is not a fan of baby food, and he wouldn't eat anything besides breast milk till recently. And now he was real food, not baby food. I made quinuo tonight and he absolutely loved it.
